Today was quite an interesting day. First of all, it feels like it has been awhile since I have walked with my cart. The walking done the past week was without my cart. It was nice to get back on the road with the cart and my supplies.
My map took me through a walkway in a public park and a cemetery. Interesting trails.
I watched a truck and trailer pass me and make a u-turn. As it came toward me it stopped about 800 feet in front of me. At that time I saw three large dogs running towards me. From what happened next, I believe the people in the truck and trailer saw the dogs and were concerned for me. I went to the opposite side of the road, and the truck and trailer started driving toward the dogs as they came out onto the road. The dogs ran away when the truck and trailer drove toward them.
Two girls drove up next to me and asked if I was thirsty. I said, “absolutely “. Thinking they would hand me a water, one of the girls handed me an opened half full cold Dr. Pepper. If your thinking? No I didn’t.
The rest of the walk was nice. I made it 24 miles to Crossville. Here is the rest of my route and miles to get there through North Carolina:
